The 505E controller is designed to operate a single extraction and/or intake steam turbine, turbine expander, drive generator, compressor, pump or industrial fan.

Woodward's 907-1183 HMI can be equipped with a NEMA 4X-rated protective housing. Although the housing is optional, it is recommended to use it because it effectively protects the electromechanical components from any permanent damage. The housing is waterproof and dust-proof, suitable for harsh outdoor conditions.

Models 9907-1183 are equipped with 32-bit microcontrollers to control a wide range of turbines, such as industrial-size standard steam turbines, multi-function turbine-generators and turbine-expansion models. It can be configured as a standalone device or run in conjunction with a DCS (distributed control system) in an industrial plant. The 505E controller is designed to operate the extraction and/or intake of most steam turbine systems.

The Woodward HMI has a PID construction that makes it ideal for applications where parameters such as turbine speed, load, inlet pressure, exhaust header pressure or extraction/entry header pressure need to be monitored and controlled. With a 4-20 mA sensor and PID and ratio/limiter function, the 9907-1183 provides precise extraction/feed control while preventing the turbine from operating beyond its parameters.
