5503-336, remote XCVR module for Woodward series MicroNet VME racks. The unit receives and sends information via a durable copper cable with its associated main XCVR module.

Simplex remote transceiver module 5503-336 XCVR sends and receives control data and address information for the relevant main XCVR module. 5503-336 The device is connected to the VME bus of the main box. The case decoder determines if this case is to be accessed, and if so, it activates the 5503-336 XCVR module to receive or send information.

Compared to the other units in the MicroNet family, the 5503-336 is fairly simple as it has only two connections on the front for the main XCVR case and two connections on the back for its own remote XCVR case.

The remote XCVR module does not require termination resistors in all extension enclosures, except for the last terminal resistor in the chain. This module must be installed in slot 1 of the VME chassis.
