Manufactured by Woodward and released as part of their NetCon controller family, the 5501-431 is a 2-channel actuator control module (100mA version). The series is available in several versions, with the model part number indicating the maximum output current capability of the module. Each channel of this two-channel model controls a proportional or integrated, pneumatic or hydraulic mechanical actuator.

The 5501-431 measures 261 x 248 x 26 mm and has an output current tolerance of 1% of full scale. The rated power requirements are +5 V @ 0.5 A, +24 V @ 1 A, and the position accuracy rating is 25.25% of full scale @ 0 °C. This position accuracy class does not include sensor errors.

Up to two position feedback devices (LVDT, RVDT) can be used on each actuator channel of the 5501-431.
