Woodward inc 8272A series 611-2301 controllers are used as split shaft or stern shaft controls. The engine and tailshaft require nearly the same RPM, although gears used to identify the same speed are not common. Using only the speed of the remote load carries the risk of overspeed in the prime mover and can cause problems when starting the control. The 8272-611 controls outputs from 20 to 160 mA. The fuel control on the turbine must obtain this operational signal.
8272-611 Manages controls in droop or synchronous mode. Drop mode is used for parallel operation of two or more prime movers, and synchronous mode is used for base load.
