Woodward Part 8272-610 Series 2301A Load Distribution and speed control. Allows automatic generator loading and synchronous load distribution for rated and idle speeds of the prime mover.

The Woodward model 8272-610 controls the load distribution and speed of generators powered by steam/gas turbines and diesel/gasoline engines. The unit provides remote input from automatic equipment, failure speed signal override, speed adjustment, descent control, auxiliary input for use by temperature sensors, and idle and rated speeds. In addition to the circuits allowed to be installed, the controls used are interchangeable with those used on individual controls. Using load sharing Speed control 8272-610 allows automatic generator loading, synchronous load distribution, and automatic synchronization.

If battery power is used, an alternator or other device is needed to maintain a safe voltage. To supply power to the device, connect the negative terminal to terminal 15 and the positive terminal to terminal 16; If it is a battery powered system, an alternator must be included.

With the turbine and engine running steadily and the external speed trims set in the middle, the 8272-610 unit will adjust the rated speed to bring the turbine and engine to the desired operating speed. To monitor the actuator voltage, connect the DC analog voltmeter to the terminals <> (+) and <> (-).
