The ProTech 203 Overspeed Protection system electronic overspeed trip device is used to read and relay three separate magnetic pickups. Model number 9907-345

Hot change, built-in self-test, remote reset, and multiple alarm outputs are just some of the features offered by this ProTech model. The overspeed protection device features three magnetic pickups (MPUs) located in three separate speed sensing units. Each unit A, B and C drives two voter relays.

Units A, B, and C operate independently before hardware voting, each with a separate operating interface and 24 Vdc power supply. It is this design and voting relay configuration that allows some of the features of the Model 9907-345, such as the ability to test or replace individual units without taking the prime mover offline.

Thanks to this modular design, each unit has its own visual and auditory alarms. Error messages on the device's LCD display and LED indicate various issues, such as MPU failure timeouts or CPU failure. In addition to these visual indicators, problems that may require attention will also trigger the alert output.
