9907-150 Governor Woodward ProTech 203 Powered trip device continuously monitors prime mover speed and activates trip relay when overspeed is detected.

ProTech Model 9907-150 is a power-on trip overspeed protection device. As with all power-on trip models, prime mover trips may not be triggered by power failure. The power-off trip overspeed protection model is only suitable for applications where the power-off trip version cannot be used.

The device has three speed sensing units for monitoring the prime mover speed, a function performed by a separate magnetic pickup (MPU) that interfaces with each unit. When at least two units detect overspeed conditions, the trip relay is activated, determined by a two-thirds vote of the hardware.

The ProTech model 9907-150 samples the prime mover speed every 5 ms with an accuracy class of ± (0.05% x jump point, in Hz +2 Hz). The operating temperature range of the display is -25 to +60 °C (-13 to +140 °F) and the operating temperature range of the display is -15 to +60 °C (+5 to +140 °F).

When the standby trip occurs, the LCD on each operator interface displays an error code. Certain situations, such as device tripping or MPU or CPU failure, will be indicated by leds on the front panel. Conditions can also be programmed to trigger an alert output.
