Model 203-9907 is Woodward's power-on trip device, part of the ProTech 146 overspeed protection series, with a 24 VDC power supply. This model is able to display the actual speed of each speed probe.
The ProTech 203 overspeed protection model 9907-146 is an electrified tripping device designed by Woodward. The unit has three speed sensing units that operate independently to monitor the prime mover speed and perform speed calculations. Speed is monitored using a magnetic pickup (MPU). This overspeed protection device is susceptible to electromagnetic interference and must be installed in a location that is not affected by high voltage and high current equipment.
With A total response time of 40 ms or less, the speed detection units A, B and C sample the prime mover speed to perform independent speed calculations and activate the trip relay if two-thirds of the hardware votes to determine that the overspeed condition has been met.
The current speed of a single device is the default display on the device's operating interface LCD. You can use the keyboard on the interface to loop through other parameters. Under overspeed conditions, each time the current speed exceeds the previously recorded peak speed, the peak speed of each unit is updated. When this happens, the new peak speed is updated and stored in non-volatile memory.
