The Woodward Power-on ProTech 203 overspeed trip device 9907-145 can sense the prime mover speed through three MPUs. Audible and visible alarm system.

The Model 9907-145 Woodward Overspeed protection uses a magnetic pickup (MPU) to monitor prime mover speed. This ProTech power-on trip system has a variety of features that make it easy to program and monitor MPU functions.

The MPU in the 9907-145 system is connected to three separate speed sensing units, each with its own operating interface. There is a separate LED on each interface that indicates the status of the device's MPU. If the MPU or its wiring fails, the corresponding LED will light up. With the 9907-145 model, the operator can choose to configure each device to output both an alarm and a trip signal, or to output only an alarm if the device's MPU is lost.

MPU fault timeout, MPU failure set point, and MPU fault trip are a few of the 907-145 tunable parameters. A complete list of tunable parameters and their functions is in the Woodward ProTech manual 85191. These parameters are programmed and monitored via the keyboard and LCD on each operating interface. The speed sensing unit can be programmed separately, but must be programmed using the same jump point.

The units are individually programmed thanks to the modular design of the Model 9907-145, which allows for features such as two-thirds voting configuration and hot replacement of any individual speed sensing unit. For these reasons, each unit has a separate 120 Vac/dc power supply (voltage range 88-132 Vac/ 90-150 Vdc, 7.25 W).
