The full system trip relies on overspeed detection by two of the three independent speed sensing units in the Model 9907-084. The single trip unit does not take the prime mover offline. Hot replacement and testing of equipment while the system is running are some of the features enabled by this two-thirds voter relay configuration. This family of devices uses magnetic pickups to monitor the prime mover speed, perform three separate speed calculations, and activate trip relays when overspeed conditions are detected.
The ProTech 9907-084 speed sensing units, each with their own 120 Vac/dc power supply, are housed in a keylocked, IP 65-certified housing. On the front panel of this housing is the operator interface for each unit.
Set five adjustable parameters using the LCD and keyboard on each interface. Trip speed set point, MPU fault trip, MPU fault timeout, MPU fault set point, and MPU gear teeth are individually programmed for each speed sensing unit, but they must be set for the same jump point.
