ProTech power trip Model 9905-991 comes with IP65 certified housing. There are three separate, identical speed sensing units in the housing, each with its own 220 Vac power supply. There is a key switch inside the housing, connected to all three units, for switching between monitor and program modes. The shell is locked to restrict access to programming and testing functions.
The front panel of a cabinet has three identical operation interfaces, one for each unit. These ports feature LED indicators, a two-wire LCD, keyboard and potentiometer. When the device is in program mode, use this interface to set parameters 9905-991. When the system is in MONITOR mode, you can view parameters, error codes, and other system information on the LCD.
Due to the modular design of the Model 9905-991, three speed sensing units can be programmed separately. However, they must be programmed in the same way to function properly. The Type 9905-991 is part of the Woodward ProTech 203 overspeed protection system family. The ProTech manual 85196 contains complete information on the tunable parameters of the device. The manual also includes a programming worksheet to help with this step.
The modular design also allows for some key functions of the system. Cells A, B, and C use a two-thirds voting configuration. This allows the prime mover to remain online and the operation to continue even if one of the units is offline, whether it is testing, replacing, or tripping. The system-wide trip relay is activated only when two of the three units detect overspeed conditions.
