Type 9905-883 is one of the available versions of the ProTech 203 overspeed protection system family. This Woodward series comes in power-to-trip and power-to-trip versions. Model 9905-883 is the power-off trip version. This is one of the models where not all speed sensing units have the same power supply. In this model, units A and B both have 120 Vac/DC power supplies; The C unit has a power supply of 220 Vac.

The ProTech overspeed protection device uses a magnetic pickup (MPU) to detect overspeed and activate the trip relay as a response.
