Woodward Series ProTech 9905-753 electronic two out of three overspeed protection system. CPU and MPU fault indication function.

Product 9905-753 is a digital overspeed protection device. This is a power-off trip device with three nearly identical speed sensing units that monitor the prime mover speed and activate the trip relay when overspeed is detected. The only difference between these units is that two of them have a 120 Vac/dc voltage input and the third has a 220 Vac voltage input. Each unit has its own power supply, and the system can be configured to be compatible with a variety of power supplies.

The modular design of the system allows for multiple functions, preventing overall system failure or system downtime. The 9905-753 system has a two-thirds voting configuration based on three independent speed calculations. The built-in frequency generator allows you to test one speed sensing unit at a time while the prime mover is online. If any of the three units trip, the other two units will remain in normal operation. This also means that individual units can be replaced without interrupting operations

The key switch is used to move between monitor and program mode. The 9905-753 system will operate in either of these modes, but should remain in MONITOR mode unless the device is actually programmed. Adjustable parameters include: MPU fault timeout, MPU gear teeth, MPU failure set point, trip speed set point, and MPU fault trip.
