The 8200-210 is a digital overspeed trip device. This model is the powered travel version of the Woodward ProTech 203 series. It uses three independent speed sensing units in a two-thirds voting configuration to continuously monitor the prime mover speed under overspeed conditions. Each of these three units has its own power supply and voltage input of 220 V AC.
The Model 8200-210's two-out-of-three hardware voting and modular design make it ideal for overspeed monitoring and protection. Only two of the three units can be used to maintain normal operation, while the third unit is tested, replaced, or in the case of a single unit trip.
Each speed sensing unit displays its actual current speed and has its own set of LED indicators. These indicators will show if the device is tripping (there is also a separate alarm output), if any device's magnetic pickup or its wiring is malfunctioning, or if there is an error in the device's CPU function.
Other features of the 8200-210 include the ability to reset the system from a remote location, keylock access for programming and testing, and the ability to configure this system to be compatible with multiple power supply combinations.
Type 8200-210 is not intended for use in hazardous environments. The device must be installed in a well-ventilated place, away from devices that vibrate and may cause electromagnetic interference.
