Woodward's 8237-1598 included overspeed and superacceleration, alarm, and time-stamped trip logging. Woodward Protech-GII series speed safety detection device model number 8237-1598. The panel mount design makes it easy to install in any cabinet. These models are suitable for gas turbines, water turbines and steam turbines, and perform routine functional tests using internal generators. It uses Modbus communication and a two-thirds voting architecture. There are low and high voltage inputs and separate relays on the device. Type 8237-1598 is suitable for turbines of any size and shuts down safely in the event of an unsafe acceleration event. The safety system also uses open-wire MPU detection.
