This unit is a 5448-890 SPM-D synchronizer. These units are built as a synchronizer module that integrates into a three-phase, AC industrial generator system. The 5488-890 is a digital synchronizer module with an integrated synchronization point. There are several advantages to having this device installed in the system. It is able to provide compatibility with various brands and types of units, such as generators, circuit breakers and automatic voltage regulators. The device has a true RMS voltage sensing capability to reduce the sensitivity of the system to harmonic interference. The 5488-890 provides automatic matching of frequency, voltage and phase, utilizing discrete or analog output bias signals.

Synchronization can work for up to two circuit breakers simultaneously. The 5488-890 synchronizer is equipped with a front-facing LED sync mirror for easy and efficient debugging. Programming is in an HMI format and is able to handle USB connections to Woodward Toolkit Services tools. The unit is equipped with three position/analog output ports for speed and voltage bias signals.
