The generator set control model 8440-1817 is part of Woodward's EasyGen 3000 series. This model is different from the others in the series because it doesn't have a display or any buttons. This model is also made of metal instead of plastic and does not contain a manual operation mode as it has no soft keys and does not even allow manual operation. Before installing the controller, make sure you have the right controller for your purpose, model 8440-1817 is strictly in stop operation mode, as the function cannot be changed.
Since your controller is not equipped with a display or any buttons that allow you to manually start and stop the controller, it must be possible to stop the controller remotely, as well as potential alarms that must occur remotely. Normally, the event history on the controller can be manually deleted, but since it doesn't have any manual capabilities, you have to use the controller in a way that you can perform all operations and functions remotely, such as resetting the event history on the controller. Note that when it comes to event history on the controller, it can hold up to 300 events and uses a real-time clock to ensure that events are properly flagged.
