The Model 8440-1810 was built by Woodward and belongs to the EasyGen 1000 series. This model has two different voltage inputs, if the voltage is between 50-130 V, then the input must be 100 V input, if the voltage is between 131-480 V, then the input must be 400 V input.
If a charging alternator is operating at 12v voltage, then the current limiting resistance of the alternator needs to be 105-120 ohms or 6 watts, and if the application is 24 V, then the resistance needs to be in the range of 210-240 ohms, which also needs to be 6 watts.
The model can be connected to a GSM modem or to a laptop, note that SMS messages can be sent via GSM modem if a SIM card is being used and SMS sending is enabled. The control can also be connected to a fixed network modem, also commonly referred to as a landline telephone modem, and the Phoenix model is especially recommended if a landline telephone modem is used. The Phoenix modem does have a discrete input that can be used to send alarm information.
When using the control, it is best if the model is in idle mode, it will block any alarms that are marked as undervoltage, low frequency and low speed, and once the LM is false, the alarms will be able to be monitored again.
