 The unit is part of the Woodward Inc. family of units located in its extensive array of synchronizer modules for three-phase generators. Generator systems such as the 8440-1668 can be installed in alternating-current powered generator systems and are equipped with a set of compatible components; A speed control module and an automatic voltage regulator. The model 8440-1668 is designed with several functions when it comes to generator synchronization. When voltage matching occurs, it provides the operator with the option of simultaneous automatic slip frequency synchronization or phase matching. The unit has a two-phase induction capability for the generator system and the connected utility bus.
