The unit is 8440-1301 and is classified as a single circuit breaker synchronizer unit for the Woodward SPM-D10/X model. These synchronizers were developed for installation into three-phase alternator systems, including a compatible control unit for engine speed, and an automatic voltage regulator. This includes Woodward speed controls and voltage regulators, as well as other compatible brands. Models 8440-1301 are equipped with dual synchronization.
When the unit is matched to the generator's voltage input, the operator can phase match or slip frequency synchronize with the 8440-1301. There are four user selectable Settings for adjusting the parameter units. They are "Run," "Check," "Close," and "Allow." Physically, the 8440-1301 is equipped with a protective housing with an Apranorm-type housing, IP42 rating on the front (with an insulating surface) and IP24 rating on the back.
