EasyGen 2000 Series Woodward One of the controls in this series is the 8440-1857 control. The control is powered by a battery/rechargeable alternator, which must be done as the series does not have an isolated power source inside the control.

When connecting a charging alternator to a controller, it will be connected via terminals 52 and 53, with terminal 53 also labeled as terminal A and Terminal 52 as terminal B. The D+(auxiliary excitation) output is connected to terminal B of the controller, and 8-40vdc (battery B+) is connected to terminal a.

When you use the control and 1Ph 3W measuring range, especially the maximum measuring range of 1Ph 3W has two Vac ranges for terminal 14, 16, 18 and 20, the range will read 0-600 or 0-150. Please note that different voltage systems must use different terminals.

Caution should be exercised when using the controller's generator current, and before disconnecting the device, the CT should be short-circuited, otherwise a dangerously high voltage can result from loss of load.
