Each TMR digital output module has three isolated sets of electronics, called channels, that independently accept data from the MP associated with each channel. These channels use a patented four-voter circuit that votes on a single output signal when applied to a load. This voter circuit is based on A parallel path that passes through if two of the three switches (channels A and B, or B and C, or A and C) command them to close. The Quad Voter circuit has multiple redundances on all critical signal paths, guaranteeing security and maximum availability. For each point, the DO module periodically performs an Output voter Diagnostics (OVD) routine. For unrestricted safe operation in a variety of multi-failure scenarios, OVD detects the following types of failures and issues alerts: • Points - All jams and snags are detected in less than 500 milliseconds. • Switches - Detect all jammed or stuck switches or their associated drive circuits. The dissolved oxygen module includes complete, continuous diagnostics for each channel. If diagnostics detects a fault on any channel, the fault indicator lights up and activates the system alert. The fault indicator identifies the channel failure, not the entire module failure. The DO module is guaranteed to function in the event of a single failure, and can continue to function in some cases of multiple failures. The DO module supports hot standby modules. Each DO module is mechanically keyed to prevent improper installation in the configured baseboard.

These backboards can be used with type 3401 DO modules: • Type 2401 for typical applications. • Model 2401L for low current applications where integral current limitation is required. Each output is equipped with a 180 ohm series resistor. • DO external terminal baseplate, used with relay output external terminal panel in high voltage applications or type 9671-610 DO hazardous site external terminal panel.
