Each TMR digital output module has three isolated sets of electronics, called channels, that independently accept data from the MP associated with each channel. These channels use a patented four-channel voting circuit to vote on a single output signal applied to the load. This voter circuit is based on A parallel series path that passes through the power supply if two of the three switches (channels A and B, or B and C, or A and C) command them to close. The four-way voting circuit has multiple redundances on all critical signal paths, guaranteeing security and maximum availability. For each point, the DO module periodically performs an Output voter Diagnostics (OVD) routine. To enable unrestricted safe operation in a variety of multi-failure scenarios, OVD detects and alerts the following types of failures: • Points - All jams and snags are detected in less than 500 milliseconds. · Switches - Detect all jammed or stuck switches or their associated drive circuits. The dissolved oxygen module includes complete, continuous diagnostics for each channel. If the diagnostic detects any channel failure, the fault indicator will turn on and activate the system alert. The fault indicator identifies the channel failure, not the entire module failure. The dissolved oxygen module is guaranteed to function properly in the event of a single failure and may continue to function properly under certain multiple failures. The DO module supports the hot spare disk module. Each dissolved oxygen module is mechanically keyed to prevent improper installation on the configured baseplate.

These backboards can be used with type 3401 DO modules: • Type 2401 for typical applications. • Model 2401L for low current applications where integral current limitation is required. Each output is equipped with a 180 ohm series resistor. • DO external end plate for use in high voltage applications with relay output external end panel, or type 9671-610 DO hazardous site external end panel.
