DP-V2 继承了 DP-V1 的性能，并在其基础上进行了扩展。支持 DP-V2 的设备增加以下功能： 从站之间的通信 (广播数据交换，发布/订阅方式) 等时同步模式 上载/下载区域数据 时钟同步和时间标签 冗余功能 DP-V2 可实现循环通信，非循环通信以及从站之间的通信。由于从站之间可以直接通信，通信时间缩短 1 个 DP 总线周期和主站周期，从而使反应时间缩短 60% 至 90%，同时建立了等时时间间隔的总线循环周期，其时间偏差小于 1us，既适用于高精度定位控制，又可实现闭环控制。适应于对实时性、精确性要求更高的动控制场合。
