MMI301按在继电保护中的作用分类(1)测量继电器，直接反应电气量的变化(又按照所反应的电气量的不同，分为：电流继电器、电压继电器、功率方向继电器、阻抗继电器、频率继电器、差动继电器等)。(2)辅助继电器，用来改进和完善保护的功能(按其作用不同，又分为：中间继电器、时间继电器、信号继电器)。

电磁型继电器MMI301 一般由电磁铁、可动衔铁、线圈、触点、反作用弹簧和止挡等部件构成。线圈通过电流时所产生的磁通，经过铁芯、空气隙和衔铁构成闭合回路。衔铁在电磁场的作用下被磁化，因而产生电磁转矩，如电磁转矩大于反作用弹簧力矩及机械摩擦力时，衔铁被吸向电磁铁磁极，使继电器两端断电后，衔铁受弹簧的拉力作用而返回到原始位置。

MMI301每一个功能对应一个设备。这不仅仅是指保护和控制功能，而对于不同原理的保护也是这样。数字化的继电器导致多功能设备的产生，这个多功能的设备可以并行地完成许多保护功能。因为有可靠性和可用性的考虑，才会使用多个保护设备，如输电线路的两套主保护。

MMI301 is classified according to its role in relay protection (1) measuring relays, which directly react to changes in electrical volume (and according to the different electrical volume of the reaction, it is divided into: current relay, voltage relay, power direction relay, impedance relay, frequency relay, differential relay, etc.). (2) Auxiliary relay, used to improve and perfect the function of protection (according to its different role, it is divided into: intermediate relay, time relay, signal relay).

Electromagnetic relay MMI301 is generally composed of electromagnet, movable armature, coil, contact, reaction spring and stop and other components. The magnetic flux generated when the coil passes through the current forms a closed loop through the iron core, air gap and armature. The armature is magnetized under the action of electromagnetic field, thus generating electromagnetic torque, such as electromagnetic torque is greater than the reaction spring torque and mechanical friction, the armature is drawn to the electromagnet pole, so that after the relay is powered off at both ends, the armature is returned to the original position by the tension of the spring.

Each function of the MMI301 corresponds to a device. This refers not only to protection and control functions, but also to the protection of different principles. Digital relays have led to multifunctional devices that can perform many protection functions in parallel. Because of reliability and availability considerations, multiple protection devices are used, such as two sets of main protection for transmission lines.
