When were the IS215VCMIH2C and Mark VI control systems first released?
The Mark VI was one of the last Speedtronic series to be released by GE. From the late 1960s (MKI) to the 1990s (MKVI and MKVIe), this series of gas turbine/steam turbine management systems was developed in many iterations with the main goal of improving the efficiency of turbine systems through reliable management, good design and the best emerging technologies. The IS215VCMIH2C was released by GE Energy and GE Industrial Solutions during the production of the Mark VI control system.

The IS215VCMIH2C is designed as a VME communication card in the GE Mark VI turbine control system and is essential for the correct functioning of the entire system. The VCMI VME communication board allows the input/output (I/O) card to communicate with other I/O cards mounted on the VME backplane, expansion rack mounted I/O cards, I/O backup protection module, triple redundancy control module, and main processor module.
The IS215VCMIH2C card is also broadly referred to as the VME bus master controller. The PCB connects the communication between the I/O board and the controller. It also acts as a communication interface for the System Control Network (IONet).
The IS215VCMIH2C has four built-in port connections placed on its front panel. These include an RS-232C serial port, Type D plug connectors, and three IONet 10Base2 Ethernet ports. Each IONet connector is associated with three LED indicators labeled TX/RX/CD. The board has additional LED indicators labeled Status, Failure, Run, and 1, 2, 4, and 8.
