The IS230TCISH6C is a DIN rail I/O module manufactured and designed by General Electric. It is part of the Mark VIe family used in GE's distributed control systems. Mark VIe I/O modules are used in turbine and power plant control systems. Its I/O modules reflect this diversity, with multiple types and the ability to distribute them individually or in clusters. The I/O module consists of an I/O package installed on the terminal board. The I/O package includes a local processor running the QNX operating system and a data acquisition board. The patch board includes a field terminal block and a passive circuit connecting the terminal block to the I/O packet. In case the passive circuit of the module fails, you can remove the terminal and connect the field cable.

IS230TCISH6C is used as an I/O terminal board. The board consists of two junction boxes, each of which is connected by two rows of screws. The blocks are mounted in a row on one long side of the card to the board. Each block is held together by two screws.

The IS230TCISH6C has three 37-pin (female) connectors on the other side. There are also two plug connectors on the module. The board is mounted in a metal carrier compatible with DIN rail. Two of the holes reserved by the factory are SCOM(grounding) chassis grounding screws, and the connection should be as short as possible.

I/O module features

The I/O module consists of an I/O package installed on the terminal board. The I/O package includes a local processor running the QNX operating system and a data acquisition board. The patch board includes a field terminal block and a passive circuit connecting the terminal block to the I/O packet.

In case the passive circuit of the module fails, you can remove the terminal and connect the field cable. Contains two palisade, pluggable terminals, each with 24 points. Using a ring connector, each point can accept two 2.05 mm2(0.081 in2)#12 AWG wires with an insulation voltage of 300 V. A retaining clamp for terminating bare wires is also provided.

The screw center spacing is 9.53 mm (0.375 in). T-modules are usually mounted on a base and can accommodate multiple I/O packages. The box terminals on the Model S module can accept one 2.05 mm2(0.081 in2)#12 AWG wire or two 1.63 mm2(0.064 in2)#14 AWG wires with 300 V insulation at each point. The screw center spacing is 5.08 mm (0.2 in). Model S modules are DIN rail and base mounted with a single I/O package.
