This machine is part of the VMIC series of various equipment. The model was originally built by General Electric's Fanuc automation division. However, as time passed, the series was subsequently withdrawn from mass production and was later acquired by Abaco Systems. AX Control Inc. is able to provide you with inventory that has been used before, but has been completely refurbished, recalibrated and serviced to the best nominal Settings, which will give these devices a productive life when used again.

The VMIVME-7588 model itself is an enhanced VMEbus CPU based on a Pentium processor, capable of handling 133 and 166 MHZ of power. An external L2 cache is integrated into the processor. The cache is designed with 512 KB of synchronous burst SRAM memory. There is also up to 256 megabytes of DRAM memory, using 72-pin SIMM compatible and incompatible parity. 64-bit Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) connects to a Super Video Graphics Array controller with up to 2 MB of video-formatted DRAM memory.

The VMIVME-7588 is also integrated in a range of on-board, advanced, enhanced IDE hard drives and floppy drive controller modules. In addition, two high-performance serial ports are integrated and can be connected to the 16550 connector.

As with all these modules in the VMIC series, a PS / 2-style keyboard and mouse port are embedded in the front panel.
