The STXDNS925 module is a DeviceNet module manufactured by GE Fanuc with 16 source inputs and 8 relay outputs rated at 24 volts DC. The STXDNS10 DeviceNet module can be further expanded to up to 924 additional modules. A DeviceNet network is a low-level network that provides connectivity between industrial devices (actuators, controllers, and sensors) through the same local network. It transmits control information to or from different low-level devices. The DeviceNet network follows common industry protocols and supports both master-slave and point-to-point communication. The STXDNS925 module has an open housing with a connection port and LED indicator on the front panel. The LED indicators are "Field Power", "MOD", "NET" and "I/O" leds. When the network module is powered on, the Field Power indicator starts to blink. When the network activation process is in progress, the "NET" LED lights up. The node address in the module can be changed by using a dial located above the DIN rail at the bottom of the module. Network modules support different baud rates. The baud rate setting is variable. The DeviceNet module uses a dedicated cable with a 5-pin connector. Data transfer is done at different communication speeds of 125, 250 and 500 Kbps. The STXDNS924 supports 2016 digital I/O points and 126 analog I/O points. The DeviceNet module supports different working modes including COS, Polling, Cycling, and Bit strobe. The module's field power supply current is 10 amps, the FnBus power supply current is 1.2 amps, and the DC voltage is 5 volts.
