The IC200PNS001 is a Profinet network interface unit in the VersaMax product family. It is mainly used to implement distributed I/O architectures using the Profinet industrial protocol, especially Profinet slave version 2.2 Class A I/O devices. The module can be used not only with the VersaMax family, but also with other controllers, such as PACSystem, RX3i and RX7i controllers.
The IC200PNS001 has two (2) RJ45 ports installed and is used as an embedded switch, using only a single IP address. It can be used in different Ethernet topologies, especially linear, star, and ring. Both ports support 10/100 mbps transfer rates and are capable of handling a total of 2880 bytes of discrete input and output, specifically 1440 bytes of input data and 1440 bytes of output data. Similarly, the module can handle up to 2880 bytes of analog I/O, specifically 1440 bytes of analog input and 1440 bytes of analog output. For diagnostic data, 32 input status bits and 32 output control bits are built into the module.
Each IC8PNS200 instance can install up to eight (001) VersaMax I/O modules and brackets. It has configurable data update rates of 1ms, 2ms, 4ms, 8ms, 16ms, 32ms, 64ms, 128ms, 256ms and 512ms. The module has a 5-VDC backplane current consumption, a power consumption of 3 watts, and a physical size of 134 mm (5.28 in) x 132 mm (5.2 in).
The IC200PNS001 uses 10/100BASE-T transmission media with a maximum cable distance of 100 meters per segment and can be extended with media converters such as Ethernet switches or fiber optic media converters.
The GE Fanuc Versamax IC200PNS001 PROFINET Scanner (PNS) module requires an RX0i PLC CPU with firmware version 3.7 or higher. And Proficy Machine Edition software version 7.0 or higher. The module coordinates Versamax remote nodes with the PROFINET I/O network. The GE Fanuc IC200PNS001 PROFINET Scanner (PNS) module has functions such as input data retrieval and output data transmission. It features features such as PROFINET alerts and diagnostic reports, allows hot swapping of overpowered power supplies that have been disconnected, and allows configuration using classless interdomain routing with hypernets and subnets. It also offers an on-site upgrade option, and the firmware can be updated via a USB port (this port is only used for firmware upgrades, not permanent connections).
The GE Fanuc IC200PNS001 PROFINET Scanner (PNS) module connects remote nodes to the PROFINET I/O network to monitor I/O status in the event of communication loss. Additional functions include module scanning (output and input scanning), management module configuration, PROFINET communication between modules and I/O controllers within the PROFINET scanner node, and reporting or issuing fault information to the I/O controller in the form of diagnostics and alerts. In addition, the primary remote I/O of the PNS module publishes data on the PROFINET network to the I/O controller and receives data generated by the I/O controller on the PROFINET network. The module operates in a temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, suitable for ambient air temperatures, without a fan.
