The IC200CMM020 is the Versamax serial communication module designed by GE. The IC200CMM020 is used as a Modbus RTU master in a Versamax I/O station controlled by the Genius network interface unit. Serial communication modules, such as IC200CMM020, can be installed anywhere in the I/O station. Each I/O station can serve up to two serial communication modules.

External devices can receive 5V power through the serial port. About 100mA of power is available for external devices. This may vary depending on how the serial device is wired. Current consumption depends on serial line termination, duplex mode, serial line activity, and the use of external adapters that may require an additional 5V power supply. The maximum loading capacity is 200mA; The internal current limit switch prevents damage and locks the flow of communication and external power sources as needed. Once the module's LED turns amber, the user must identify the overloading situation, and when the situation is resolved, the communication and power flow will resume.

The configuration of the IC200CMM020 module is done using GENERIC-COMM, which is a function of the programmer.
