GE Fanuc's IC698RMX016 is a 7MB redundant memory swap for the Rx16I Pacsystem. It has the following dimensions: 6.299 inches wide x 9.187 inches high. It has 16MB of SDRAM user memory. The power supply operates at +5 V DC. The current requirement is 1.8A. The device has iber optical LC connectors and zirconium ceramic ferrules according to IEC 61754-20. The maximum insertion loss is 0.35 dB and return loss is -30dB. Acceptable temperatures range from -20°C to +85°C. To complete the installation, you need to ensure that you have all of the following: a PACSystems RX00i CPU with firmware version 7.2 or higher; PACSystems Rx7i CPU rack with power supply; A PC-compatible computer with CIMPLICITY Machine Edition - Logic Developer PLC, programming software 4.5 or later, and the necessary cables.


Note that in order to meet radiation emission standards, RX7i systems containing multiple Memory Xchange modules must be installed in a pipe metal housing or equivalent housing. Memory modules can only be installed in RX7i rack 0 (main). It is recommended that the RMX module be installed in slots 4 and 3 of the chassis. This gives the RMX module a VME interrupt request priority. While such a configuration is recommended, it is not strictly required that RMX modules be placed in slots 4 and 3. To install IC698RMX016 Redundant Memory Xchange, ensure that the rack is powered off. Next, slide the module into the exact slot configured for it in the system. The IC698RMX016 is initially powered on in an unconfigured state, at which point its optical emitter is disabled. The redundant memory switch module will not run on the network until the RX7i CPU sends the hardware configuration to the module. To enable reflective memory operations, the user can choose to configure the following parameters: redundant transport mode, node ID, network memory offset, malicious master, and interrupt enable. Note that if redundant link operation is selected, the above parameters are set by the CPU and therefore cannot be configured. Please note that the IC698RMX016 is used as a reflective memory module with general purpose, additional functions beyond basic read and write operations, including reading interrupt states, enabling interrupts, reading parity errors, and enabling parity, can be performed by user logic.
