The IC697RCM711 is a redundant communication module (RCM). It is part of the 90-70 series Programmable Logic controller (PLC) family with a high-speed parallel bus expansion interface designed for hot standby and enhanced hot standby CPU redundancy configurations. This module provides synchronization paths and I/O update paths between partner cpus, facilitating fast updates and uninterrupted transfer of CPU control during switching. The IC697RCM711 is part of a redundant system that typically consists of hot standby 90-70 series controllers such as the IC697CPU780, IC697CGR772, and IC697CGR735. Bus transmitter module with directory number IC697BEM713 and bus terminator plug with directory number IC697ACC702.
