The IC697CPU780 is a central processing unit (CPU) module for the 90-70 series programmable Logic controller (PLC) platform, formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc and now owned by Emerson Automation. This CU module is a single-socket CPU designed for redundant controller configurations, compatible with critical applications, and requires high availability. In a redundant or hot standby configuration, the primary CPU is synchronized to the secondary CPU. As soon as the main CPU fails or transitions from RUN mode to STOP mode, the bump-free switch of the control is automatically activated, thus avoiding downtime. The IC697CPU780 mainly uses an 80386DX microprocessor with a processing speed of 16 MHz and a Boolean execution time of 0.4 microseconds per function. It is capable of handling any combination of input and output up to 12KB and analog input and output signals up to 8K. It supports floating point math calculations and other advanced instruction sets.
