The IC697CGR772 is a hot standby dual-bus central processing unit (CPU) module for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) 90-70 series platforms. The CPU module was previously manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, but was recently acquired by Emerson Automation. It is used in applications requiring high availability and fault-tolerant systems because when paired with another similar CPU, the IC697CGR772 exhibits bump-free transport, automatic synchronization, redundant backup communication, one-scan switching, and eliminates a single point of failure.
