Product description


The IC697ALG440 is a current extender module that can be paired with GE series 90-30 base converter modules. The complete analog subsystem includes basic converter and extender modules. The IC697ALG440 has 16 individually configurable current or voltage differential inputs. The base converter accepts bipolar or unipolar analog inputs up to 10 V at full scale. In addition, the base converter will accept 4 to 20 mA current loop signals. The IC697ALG440 provides individual user scaling for each input channel of the module. The entire subsystem accepts up to 120 inputs. Jumpers and DIP switches are not required, and fast update rates are normal for basic converters. The configuration is compatible with Windows or MS-DOS software features.


The input is converted to digital form for use by the CPU or a controller that accesses the analog input through the VME backplane. The input has transient and steady-state overvoltage protection. The percentage of AI referenced by the analog input is used for programmable controllers; However, up to 8k words of memory are currently available. Each input channel is set to use one word of %AI memory at 16 bits. Configuration is performed using MS-DOS or Windows software. Field wiring can be used with detachable terminal boards, and modules are mechanically keyed for proper replacement. The I/O baseline is configured by the user, as mentioned earlier, without the need for jumpers and/or DIP switches.

The IC697ALG440 current input expander module belongs to the 90-70 series of programmable logic controllers produced by GE Fanuc. It has 16 current inputs with input currents ranging from 4 to 20 mA.
