The IC697ALG320 is an advanced analog output module that is fully compatible with GE Series 90-30 modules. The voltage and current outputs are located on a single module with four individually configured current or voltage outputs. In addition, the module offers a bipolar or unipolar output. The IC697ALG320 analog output system provides 0 to 22.5 mA current loop signals with individual user scaling on each output channel. This particular output system has a fast update rate and does not require jumpers or DIP switches to configure. It also uses data stored in non-volatile EEPROM memory for factory calibration. The IC697ALG can be easily configured using MS-DOS or Windows programming software.
The high level analog output of the PLC receives digital data from the CPU or other controllers by accessing the PLC backplane. The D/A converter then converts the output to an analog output of up to 16 volts. The basic converter provides 14-bit resolution and 0-bit monotonicity. In addition, the output is isolated from the backplane, so steady or transient overvoltage situations can be prevented.
