The GE Fanuc IC697ADC701 Alphanumeric Display Coprocessor (ADC) is an add-on processor designed to enhance the processing power of the 90-70 series PLC cpus. The GE Fanuc IC697ADC701 alphanumeric display coprocessor specifically allows the 90-70 series PLC to report alarms and other important information to the operator by using a human-machine interface such as the GE Fanuc Operator Interface Terminal (OIT) or a simpler version known as the Mini OIT. The coprocessor is installed directly by plugging into any available slot in the 90-70 series PLC backplane, which also provides power and communication interfaces as well as circuitry for the coprocessor. It is the end user's responsibility to ensure that the power supply is disconnected prior to installation of the alphanumeric display coprocessor to avoid any accidental operation, failure or dangerous situation.

The GE Fanuc IC697ADC701 Alphanumeric Display Coprocessor (ADC) must be installed in a protective housing with an ambient operating temperature range of -25 to +70 degrees Celsius (-13 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit).
