The IC694BEM340 controller is the RX3i controller of GE Fanuc. It has an open architecture. Controller supports I/O and datagrams. The controller is fully compatible with PAC system and serial bus. It runs on 5 volts direct current and 300 milliamps. The controller is capable of connecting with different GE manufactured genius modules, Versa Max systems, field control stations and handheld monitors. The bus controller provides faster communication with the serial bus through the use of datagrams. At a given time, the controller can transmit up to 128 bytes of data using the I/O bus. The bus connected to the controller is capable of reporting different system events, including failures and alarms. The IC694BEM340 controller can automatically save these reports for future reference. A normal RX3i PAC system can accommodate up to eight bus controllers.
On the front of the IC694BEM340 controller, there are 2 leds, which should always light up during operation. The "OK" LED displays the status of the controller. This LED will light up after the initial diagnosis is complete. The "COM" LED indicates the communication bus status. If this parameter is enabled, the bus runs normally. The IC694BEM340 controller features advanced diagnostics. The diagnostic function runs through the entire operation process, making it easy to detect faults or unwanted events. The controllers are connected using chain cables or twisted-pair cables. Both ends of the controller are equipped with resistors for bus terminations. It supports different baud rates of 2.38, 4.76, and 8.153K for different lengths. The IC6BEM694 controller should not be exposed to EMC radiation and noise sources during installation.
