GE Fanuc designs and manufactures an I/O processing module called the GE Fanuc RX3i IC694APU305 Pulse I/O processing module. It is designed to manage pulse train signals from a variety of industrial processes, such as flow meters, event counters in motion control applications, and encoder and decoder signal applications. The GE Fanuc IC694APU305 pulse I/O processing module is an add-on module to the RX3i product family that requires receiving 3V DC power from the RX5i backplane to fully operate. Both input and output points are designed with positive logic and are optically isolated to avoid overcurrent or short-circuit related damage in the module.
There is no limit to the number of GE Fanuc IC694APU305 pulse I/O processing modules that can be connected to a single RX3i system, so you only need to plug in additional modules to process any pulse signals that need to be monitored.
