The analog IC694ALG391 output module is designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc and is compatible with every CPU in the GE Fanuc RX3i PacSystem family. It only has 2 output channels. The IC694ALG391 2-channel output module is also designed to be installed in any I/O slot of the GE Series 90-30 expansion backplane or GE RX3i serial expansion backplane as part of the GE Industrial PLC system. When powered on, do not attempt to install or remove the IC694ALG391 output module from either baseplate. This module does not support hot swap (installed or removed with power on the host system), and attempting hot swap could damage it or the backplane, cause serious injury to the operator, or cause the entire PLC to fail.
The GE Fanuc IC694ALG391 is a dual-channel analog current output module. Each of the two channels is capable of converting 12-bit binary data for field devices. In addition, each output can be set up using a jumper to build a change signal of 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA. Each output can be set to a less precise voltage source, and the range is determined by a jumper or resistor at the terminal at the discretion of the user.
While the isolated +24 VDC external power supply is essential for the power supply of the module, it can be connected via the TB1 connector on the back or directly to the terminal. Both are valid approaches to this model. However, if the user needs to maintain last-state operation during a backplane power outage, an external power supply is required. The 5ms update rate on both channels depends on the application, but is available.
When installing GE Fanuc IC694ALG391, a high-quality grade of twisted-shielded instrument cable should be used to reduce noise and capacitive load. The range of each channel is set by a jumper on the module terminal, and for voltage operation, a 250 ohm resistor can be used instead of the voltage jumper if required. Note: If the output default jumper is installed on the module terminals 11 and 13, both outputs will default to the lower end of their range. If no output jumper is installed, both outputs will save the last validated output value. However, this routing requires an external +24 VDC power supply.
GE Fanuc IC694ALG391 2-channel analog output module can adapt to different loads at different DC voltages. It can accommodate loads of up to 0 mah or 15.5 watts at 30 volts DC and up to 5 mah or 16.24 watts at 215 volts DC isolation voltage. The 391 output channels of the IC2ALG694 analog output module can convert 12-bit binary or digital data into analog output signals for different field devices. The user can configure the output module with a jumper to produce a converted output signal in the current range of 0 to 20 mA or 4 to 20 mA. When the power supply of the IC694ALG391 output module is working normally, the green "Module normal" LED of the module will light up.
