The IC694ALG232 input module is a 16-channel input module for advanced diagnosis. The IC694ALG232 input module supports up to 16 input channels for handling analog voltages. More specifically, the module can be used to provide 8 differential input channels or 16 single-ended input channels. The IC694ALG232 features include support for software configuration, configurable scaling and offsetting per channel, fault reporting, high/low, high/high and low/low alarm detection and reporting, firmware upgrades, hot insertion and removal, positive/negative change rates of alarms, and diagnostic point fault contacts in logic programs. When mounted on an RX3i universal backplane, the IC694ALG232 input module requires an external +24 volts DC power supply. When installed in an expansion backplane, the power supply for the IC694ALG232 input module is obtained from the backplane.
The IC694ALG232 input module has an input range of 0 to 10 V (unipolar) or -10 to +10 V (bipolar). The factory calibration for the unipolar input voltage range is 0.3125 millivolts per count, and the calibration for the bipolar input voltage range is also 0.3125 millivolts per count. The single-ended input channel has an update rate of 5 ms and the differential input channel has an update rate of 3 ms. Field to backplane (optical) isolation rated at 250 volts continuous. The common mode voltage in the bipolar input voltage range is +11 V. The input impedance of differential mode is greater than 1 megohm, and the input impedance of single-ended mode is greater than 500 kilohm. The input filter responses for single-ended and differential modes are 23 Hz and 38 Hz respectively. The maximum current consumption of the IC694ALG232 input module is 5 mA of the 112 V DC backplane.
