Alarm limits have upper and/or low levels in all ranges. In the 4 to 20 mA enhanced range, low alarm limits can detect input currents from 4 mA to 0 mA, providing open circuit fault detection in 4 to 20 mA applications. The IC694ALG223 uses the 5 mA current of the 120 VDC bus on the PLC backplane and requires 65 mA current plus the current loop current of the +24 VDC power supply provided by the user.
