GE Multilin's UR-9JH, a module designed for the general purpose relay family, is a CPU module that provides the relay with a highly configurable logic framework and computational algorithms to control the relay's protection functions. In addition, the module is connected to other modules in the expandable UR unit, which helps to determine its function and the data captured.


The Universal relay family has been designed with scalability in mind, so replacing old modules and installing new ones is a relative breeze, especially when combined with following the verbal and graphical guidelines provided by the Universal Relay Manual.


Before installing a CPU module, any buyer of Multilin's CPU module should carefully read and understand the respective user manual, as there are many guidelines to ensure proper operation and protect users. For example, before removing a relay from the case, the user must properly disconnect each individual connection to the current CPU module, otherwise user injury/system damage may occur.

If the CPU UR-9JH Multilin UR series has two Ethernet ports, if both ports are connected, which port is preferred?

The UR-9JH is unique because in September 2015, a hardware revision was finally completed based on the popularity of Ethernet copper ports originally found on the "9G" and 9H' CPU modules of UR series universal relay systems, which are now obsolete. This hardware version enhances the communication capabilities of the "9K" and "100J" CPU modules by adding this copper Ethernet port on the lower right side (rear view). Therefore, for the new version, there may be cases where the original fiber Ethernet port (10Base-FX) and the new copper cable (100/100-TX) Ethernet port are connected simultaneously. In this case, the original <>Base-FX fiber Ethernet port will be Ethernet connected.

Can the UR CPU module be ordered as a spare unit independent of the Multilin UR series original relays?
