The I800SSI104RD2 is a VersaMotion S2K controller manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation. The controller is a 4.3 amp and 115/230 VAC device with rotary transformer feedback and DeviceNet programming capabilities. The unit has discrete input and output, position feedback, emergency outage circuit, brushless servo motor, VAC input, serial port, auxiliary I/O and DIP switch position.

String variables simplify the interface with third-party HMI. The I800SSI104RD2 supports instant mode operation, where an external host can load registers or issue commands that are executed in real time (via serial or network ports). With a real-time operating system and comprehensive programming language, the controller can execute up to four programs, one motion task and one communication task simultaneously. Any program can start and stop any other program, and all programs can take advantage of common motion blocks. Reduced engineering time and simplified integration thanks to the configuration and programming wizard of the controller software.

The controller has a simple diagnostic system that is displayed on a 2-character LED on the front panel. All LED status codes are listed in the Motion Solutions manual. Multiple faults are displayed in a cyclic manner. The S2K series can control a wide torque range in a single model. The controller features a smaller package size and a wide range of processing capabilities for demanding applications.
