IC695GCG001 is a genius communication gateway. This module is part of PACSystem RX3i and is primarily used to provide Ethernet connectivity to any legacy existing Genius bus system. This module is used to preserve the functionality of legacy modules utilizing the Genius bus and to safely migrate devices to modern control systems without the need for complete decommissioning.
The IC695GCG001 provides two (2) RJ45 communication interfaces supporting PROFINET and two (2) Genius communication interfaces. The Genius bus adapter from the existing I/O system is connected to the Genius port of the IC695GCG001. The PROFINET interface then virtually connects or Bridges the connection between the PROFINET network and the connected Genius functional module. The module acts as a gateway between 2 protocols, supports up to 31 Genius blocks or devices, and allows 2048 bytes of I/O data, specifically 1024 input data and 1024 output data. The module supports standard and extended Genius bus speeds, specifically 153.6 kbps.
The protocols supported by IC695GCG001 are RTC - Real-time Loop Protocol, Class 1 and Class 2 (asynchronous); RTA - real-time acyclic protocol; DCP - Discover and configure protocols; CL-RPC - Connectionless remote procedure call; LLDP - Link layer discovery protocol. MRP - Media Redundancy Protocol; SNMP - Simple network management protocol. It also supports subset protocols, including UDP, IP, ARP, and ICMP (Ping). The IC695GCG001 module supports Ethernet Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP). The IC695GCG001 module is typically installed in a panel mount. An optional installation kit for the RX3i expansion slot is also available. The module requires an external 24 volt DC power supply and consumes 0.2 amps of current. The IC695GCG001 module supports hot swap. However, hot swap requires that the external power supply be disconnected. The recommended ambient operating temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
