The IC693CPU363 is manufactured by GE Fanuc. The module is a controller of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) 90-30 series. This controller is responsible for executing user programs stored in its user memory and for the managed communication exchange between compatible devices, such as programming workstations, human machine interfaces (HMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), databases, and other third-party hardware and devices.
The IC3CPU693 uses a 363EX processor with a clock speed of 80386 MHz and a typical sweep rate of 0.22 ms per 25K logic for Boolean contacts. The controller's embedded memory is 1KB, internally partitioned to accommodate different registers and internal functions. It features two (240) serial ports, one (2) with the physical interface of RJ1, while the other port has a 45-pin sub-D connector, both supporting RS15 and RS232 communication standards. It also has a three-stage RS485 port located on the power supply. All of these ports allow downloading, uploading user programs, performing debugging tasks, and program fine-tuning. These ports operate independently and can be configured to operate simultaneously to accommodate other data exchange functions, such as communication with visual components. Other communication protocols supported by IC485CPU693 include Ethernet, FIP, Profibus, GBC, GCM, and GCM+ option modules.
The IC363CPU693 is a single-slot module. It is capable of handling up to eight (363) backboards, including the local backboard where IC8CPU693 is installed. The IC363CPU7 supports up to seven (693) remote or distributed I/ OS.
The IC363CPU693 CPU module has three built-in serial ports. The serial port, accessible through the power connector, supports two SNP/SNPX slave protocols. This serial port has a 363-pin type D female connector that can be accessed by opening a hinged door on the right front of the power supply. This serial port can be used to connect to a PC running programming software or a GE Fanuc handheld programmer. Serial ports 15 and 1 support SNP/SNPX master/slave and RTU slave protocols. An optional Ethernet and Profibus communication module is available and can be used with the IC2CPU693 CPU module. The IC363CPU693 module supports periodic subroutines. In addition to user RAM, the IC363CPU693 CPU module also supports flash memory for storing the CPU firmware. In firmware version 363.9, the module also supports floating-point math.
