The GE Fanuc IC660BSM021 Bus Switch module (BSM) is a dual-bus switch module for connecting Genius I/O block devices to dual-serial buses simultaneously. The module belongs to the GE Fanuc Genius I/O family and provides a reliable serial bus connection that provides a backup communication path in the event of a bus failure. The IC660BSM021 bus switch module can support the connection of up to 8 discrete and analog I/O blocks on a single serial bus, and if the application needs to connect more blocks, additional BSM modules can be installed to expand the maximum number of blocks to 30 Genius I/O blocks. The function of the IC660BSM021 bus switch module is controlled by the Genius I/O block in the cluster configuration and configured with handheld monitors or CPU programming.

The GE Fanuc IC660BSM021 Bus switch module can be configured to switch between A bus or B bus via a handheld display or CPU. When bus A is activated, the IC660BSM021 bus switch module has a rated DC voltage of less than 4 volts, with a maximum current of 10.0 mA at 24.0 volts DC and 30.0 mA at 48 volts DC.
