The IC693BEM340 FIP bus controller module was designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc as the interface between the series 90-30 I/O network and the system's central PLC. It is designed to be mounted on the same rack as a programmable logic controller that is also fed from the same power supply. The use of GE Fanuc IC693BEM340 FIP bus controller module can not only realize the communication between the I/O network and the central PLC of the system, but also provide a secure storage space for the configuration data of the field equipment, and can be used as a centralized troubleshooting platform. Near the front top of the module are six leds, two serial ports for FIP(Factory Instrumentation Protocol) network connectivity, and an additional RS-485 serial port for configuration.
