The GE Fanuc IC660BCM501 device is a battery charger supplied with the GE ic660hm501 handheld display. The IC660BCM501 battery charger is used to charge the battery pack that comes with the handheld display. The IC660BCM501 battery charger can operate at either 115 volts AC or 230 volts AC. Before plugging the charger into AC power to operate or charge the handheld display, the switch on the bottom of the IC660BCM501 battery charger must be set to match the input voltage (115 volts or 230 volts AC). The handheld display can be operated with a charger attached. The handheld monitor can be powered by internal batteries or external AC power. In either case, the battery must always be installed in the unit, otherwise the unit will not operate.

If the internal battery is new or fully discharged due to the use of battery power, you must charge the battery for at least 15 minutes before you can use the handheld display. If you need to resume temporary operation before charging is complete, you must plug the charging cable into the handheld display and charge the battery for 15 minutes before powering it on. It may also be necessary to remove the internal battery pack for 15 to 20 seconds and then reinstall it. Continuous use of AC power to operate the handheld display will cause the internal battery to drop. After 2 years of AC operation, the internal battery may not hold enough charge to independently operate the handheld display. However, the handheld display can still be used for AC operation.
